Harlan Levien is a Registered Architect in the great State of Texas, NCARB certified, has a Post Professional Master of Architecture degree with Certification as a Specialist in Sustainable Design from The University of Texas at Austin, a Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City, with awards in Design and Structures.

His writings include a treatise on beauty: Architectural Aesthetics and Human Well-Being, one section of a larger work in progress on the relationship between architecture and well-being. Other papers cover a range of architectural theory, criticism and policy. He has a wide range of construction experience and has worked as a General Contractor, and as a professional Carpenter, Cabinetmaker, Photographer and Artist.
